or at least the blues are nippin' at my heals. It's been a hard summer--a hard year for that matter and I'm trying to keep my head above water, but we could use a break. Keep your fingers crossed for me that the future holds some good surprises.

Austin is home to headquarters for Whole Foods. It is amazing. We got dessert for dinner the other night--from top left: Mexican Chocolate Bread Pudding, Apple Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie, and Cherry Cobbler. All delicious!
Just in case you forget where you are when you're in Texas, there are plenty of reminders pretty much everywhere you look. 
We headed to Texas today to be with N's mom as she faces what the doctor's have said is her final stage of battling cancer. She will be very much missed.
I just finished knitting this Christmas stocking for a child I have not had, and am not planning to have anytime soon. But I figured that when I have a child, I won't have time to knit a stocking to match our other knit Christmas stockings so I better get on the stick now. Of course, this is a masculine stocking, so I'll have to knit another, more feminine one just in case. Weird, I know.
sitting. waiting. bored. anxious. angry at myself for being bored and anxious. But that's sunshine on the other side of that crappy, dollar-store set of curtains and blinds, right?
