What's this?

More quality time on the couch, of course, though N. learned to appreciate the comfort of the easy chair too.

My mom's school trip to D.C.

This pic from 1968, shows my mom (in the oval circle on the left) and my aunt (in the round circle on the right) getting ready for a class trip to D.C.. This is how I picture the '60s; in black and white. I guess I think sometime in the '70s, humanity walked from the Kansas house into Oz and found color.

When my mom saw herself in this picture, she thought it was me for a second--that's how much we look alike.

Seek, and ye shall find.

My incessant pining has paid off, and today I got a treat when an unexpected package arrived from Farmaesthetics. Thanks, momma! I feel prettier already. Really. I do.

My mother's Wunderkammer

My mother's home--or live-in cabinet of curiosities, as I like to think of it.

An annoyance

We have a lovely, solid oak, antique dining room table that my mother rescued from an elderly relatives basement when she was sixteen, then painstakingly refinished. Unfortunately, in our current apartment, the only place for the table is in front of the only window in the living room, which means it is impossible to keep the cats off it.

And this drives me crazy!
